Free Shane and Shane Show July 6th

Hey Everybody,

I don’t know if you live near Orlando or not but even if you don’t you should vacation here during the week of the 4th of July. Go to Disney, Universal, Sea World, all the waterparks, and even take a trip to the beach, then on the afternoon of July 6th come out to the Avalon Park Bandshell for a free Shane and Shane concert. We will have a rock climbing wall, bounce houses, and food vendors and the only thing you have to pay for is food (if you decide to eat). The night will start at 5:30 and the music will kick off at 6:30 with opening act Josh Wilson, not me… a different Josh Wilson, check out his video below. Shortly after the incredible Shane and Shane will be playing, you can also check out their video below. But the whole reason for this event is to raise money for a movement called Blood:Water mission to build a clean water well in sub-Sahara Africa. C3 Church is all about making a difference and reaching out and loving those who are in need, and when we heard about blood:water mission and all that they are doing to help those in Africa who are dying because of Aids and their lack of clean water and clean blood we felt that we should do something to help. So, we will be taking donations for that. Please come and help. You can make a difference.

Florida afternoons after the rain.

So, before i moved here i was told that during the summer it pretty much rains every afternoon, and they weren’t lying. Yesterday it was such a beautiful day and so I was going to take my road bike out for a few miles when all of a sudden lightning struck and less than a second later i heard the thunder and thought to myself… this isn’t a very good idea. So I turned around and decided just to drive to the gym instead.

But today, as I sit hear in front of Barnies coffee at my usually table with my usual drink, the storm has passed and wow what an amazing afternoon. I love the feel and the smell of the air after the storm, it is so stinkin comfortable.

Luke 8:22-25 says:

22One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s go over to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and set out. 23As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger.

24The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”

He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. 25“Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples.
In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.”

Everyone encounters storms in their life, but we must have faith that Jesus will bring us through those troubled times. Whatever you are going through don’t lose faith. What is waiting for you on the other side of the storm is rather beautiful.

Music Monday (Phil Wickham)

This music monday is all about an artist that I actually had the privilege of seeing live last night. Its a guy named Phil Wickham. Him and his band lead worship and it was on of the most powerful worship sets that I have heard in a long time. His voice is amazing, it kinda reminds me of a mixture between leeland and chris tomlin. His band is amazing as well. What really stood out to me was how creative the drummer was. He was so creative it was almost sloppy, and normally I dont like drummers that do more than is needed but it totally worked for him. I would describe there style of music as worship music on crack. I know that sounds like an oxymoron but it totally makes sense to me. Check out his cd “Cannons” its life changing.

Flyleaf (A band that gets it)

Today i was going through my blog bookmarks and I read Angie’s blog about flyleaf and the song “All Around Me” and I realized how much I really do like this band. Then i youtubed them and found the interview below and now they are pretty much my favorite band. They don’t hide the fact that they are singing for and praising Jesus through their music and they do it in an entertaining way that appeals to everyone no matter if you are a Christian or not. Flyleaf is a band that is truly making a difference and spreading Jesus all over the world. Mad props to Flyleaf!!! Check out this video.
